On the fourth day of Christmas

Four dashes dashing,

And an apostrophe in a pear tree.

On the fifth day of Christmas,
My teacher made me use:
Five hyphens,
Four dashes dashing,
Three question marks,
Two semi-colons
And an apostrophe in a pear tree.

On the sixth day of Christmas,
My teacher made me use:
Six brackets bending,
Five hyphens,
Four dashes dashing,
Three question marks,
Two semi-colons
And an apostrophe in a pear tree.

On the seventh day of Christmas,
My teacher made me use:
Seven periods stopping,
Six brackets bending,
Five hyphens,
Four dashes dashing,

We all got confused:
Twelve parentheses!
Eleven ellipses waiting,

Three question marks,
Two semi-colons
